We recently had the privilege of participating in the esteemed 5th Aviation, Space, and Psychology Congress, held on December 2-3 at Istanbul University’s Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Congress and Culture Center. This year’s congress, themed around “Artificial Intelligence”, brought together experts from various fields, offering a rich tapestry of knowledge and innovation.
One of the highlights of the congress was Dr. Tevfik Uyar’s insightful presentation on “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Aviation Compliance and Safety Management”. Dr. Uyar delved into the utilization of Large Language Models (LLMs) within the Bowtie approach, a method widely recognized for its effectiveness in safety management. His presentation shed light on how LLMs can be applied to determine threats, risks, potential outcomes, Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), and mitigation strategies, marking a significant advancement in the realm of aviation safety.
